New Zealand Hosting Services

With the increased trends towards e-commerce, websites and enterprise systems and real time business processes, many organisations are finding that there is no longer a suitable window to make backup tapes of their data. In addition to this, often these real time systems leave no paper audit trails making it difficult to recreate data if it was "lost" or corrupted. Similarly in a recovery situation, many organisations using these systems would find that the time it takes to source replacement hardware and restore from backup tapes would be unacceptable to achieving a successful business recovery.

To counteract these issues, many organisations today are looking to replicating data to a remote location. This replication can either occur simultaneously as each transaction takes place or shortly after the transaction has been processed, using a delayed replication process. In other words, with data replication, the data is physically created in one location and a duplicate copy is held on another server, preferably at another site. Should a disaster occur at the base location, then the remote site can take over the processing or could provide records of the transitional data seamlessly.

Client Achievement

What our clients have achieved is that if there is a disaster in their location, their operations will continue to run from the Dunedin disaster recovery site. We have one Wellington based client who regularly disconnects his Head Office from their prime system in Wellington and runs from the Dunedin location. His system is so well set up now that when he does this it is transparent to both his Head Office users and his web based client base.

Besides hosting systems for disaster recovery we can also host production sites for clients.
